Pipy for Windows Launches Apps, Searches Files, and Pipes Output from One Command to Another [Windows Downloads]

Windows: Pipy is an application launcher that combines the best elements of apps like Launchy with command-line features from Unix-based systems that you may be missing on your Windows PC.

Pipy does all of the basics seamlessly: launch it with a key-command and start typing to search your computer for files and folders or launch applications. Commands like "search" and "launch" do what they're supposed to do, and "websearch" query your preferred search engine. Where Pipy really shines though is if you're looking for files on your system and want to do sequential searches or filter your search results. For example if you're searching for files names "Lifehacker" that are also mp3s, just type "search Lifehacker | grep mp3" and the app will show you the results immediately.

Pipy is also customizable if you don't care for the look of the pop-up search window, and you can change your preferred search engine, change local search settings, and more from the app preferences. Pipy is a little rough around the edges, but it's definitely worth a try. It's completely free, and Windows only.
