Position Info:
This position is responsible for providing human resources consultation to AMA business partners, fostering strategic relationships and contributing HR insight into business planning and operations.? The incumbent will take a lead role in the development and implementation of business unit and corporate human resources programs. ?
Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
(Include but are not limited to)
- Provide strategic human resources consultation to managers, directors and senior leadership through the provision of high quality advice and support in developing and delivering people management solutions.
- Facilitate resolution of employee relation issues; appropriate escalation as required.
- Lead in the development, enhancement and delivery of human resource policies, practices and programs corporately as well as within individual business units.
- Provide consultation on human resources policies, procedures and applicable legislation for the business and other human resources team members.
- Provide input to corporate initiatives and projects by connecting business operations requirements and challenges to human resources solutions.
- Ensure effective processing of consultative services paperwork with support from the HR administration team.
- Collaborate with other human resources teams to develop value add, relevant solutions and efficiencies for people practices.
- Provide both strategic and tactical support to business units in their efforts to attract and recruit the appropriate human capital to meet their business needs.
- Serve as the lead on medium to large scale HR projects and initiatives.?
Background (Education/Licenses/Work Experience):
- Post secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. human resources, business, etc.).
- Minimum 7 years human resource related experience, preferably including operation?s management or experience in a consultative function.
- CHRP designation and/or participation in the local human resource community.?
Skills & Proficiency:
- Solid knowledge and experience in providing consultation relating to human resources policies, procedures, programs, and legislation and best practice in multiple human resources disciplines.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to build and foster relationships with key business contacts for the strategic provision of human resources towards business objectives.
- Open minded and able to maintain composure in highly emotionally situations.
- Ability to recognize and positively influence team dynamics.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A diplomatic, collaborative negotiator and effective facilitator.
- Strong planning, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Computer literate with demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems.?
