AMMAN, Jordan (AP) ? A U.S. official says Secretary of State John Kerry will meet on Friday with the Palestinian's chief negotiator as he continues his push to try to relaunch Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
The official says Kerry will see Saeb Erekat (sah-EEB' EHR'-ih-kaht) in Amman, Jordan, to go over details of a proposal to resume the stalled negotiations that Palestinian leaders debated late Thursday.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss Kerry's schedule publicly, says there are no immediate plans for Kerry to meet an Israeli negotiator.
The Kerry-Erekat meeting comes as the Palestinians are demanding guarantees that Israel agree on the general border of a future Palestinian state in order to return to peace talks.
