New Android apps worth downloading: Fixya, Punch Quest, Monopoly Hotels

Today, get help in fixing everything from your guitar to your Android device with Fixya! It lets you tap into the Fixya community and post video questions about how to fix things in order to get help from super-knowledgeable members. Following that is Punch Quest, a game about punching and questing (it's also a side-scrolling runner game with platforming elements). Finally, Monopoly Hotels riffs off of the Tiny Tower formula, asking you to build a towering hotel by filling it with guests and attractions.

What?s it about? Tap into a community of do-it-yourself fixers with Fixya by searching for the information you need and asking questions for specific help.

What?s cool? The website version of Fixya is already pretty cool. It's basically a giant forum of DIY solutions to common problems with a host of products and devices, in which users ask questions about fixing stuff and other users answer them. Fixya on Android lets you tap into the community from your smartphone, and has the benefit of using your device's video capabilities to make asking your specific questions easier. You can send a video with your question and that lets other users better answer it, helping you to get the info you need faster. You can also watch other people's videos and help them out by answering their questions.

Who?s it for? If you need help fixing things, or have the knowledge to help others, you should check out Fixya.

What?s it like? You can get more (often useful) answers from search engine apps Ask.com and Google Search.

What?s it about? As the name suggests, Punch Quest is a game about punching your way through huge numbers of monsters, using power-ups and platforming skills.

What?s cool? Punch Quest is ostensibly an endless running game, in which players make as much forward progress through a side-scrolling world as possible before getting overrun by enemies. The major mechanic here is the punching ? you blast through bad guys along the way, and have to continually defeat enemies in order to keep your speed up. There are various power-ups you can grab along the way that change your character into something else for a short while.

Who?s it for? If you like running games, arcade titles and punching stuff, you must play Punch Quest.

What?s it like? Try developer Noodlecake's other great games: Super Stickman Golf 2 and Zombie Road Trip.

What?s it about? Build your Monopoly hotel as high as you can, and earn as much money as you can, in Monopoly Hotels.

What?s cool? Though it's based loosely on Monopoly, Electronic Arts' new title Monopoly Hotels is more of a management simulation. Your job is to build a hotel out of various rooms, bringing in people by providing them with a quality experience. That means you'll need to add things like shops to your hotel that will generate money and attract more guests, and manage who works at them and whether they're stocked. The more you earn, the bigger your tower can become and the more guests you can attract.

Who?s it for? Fans of management games and the Monopoly feel will have a good time with Monopoly Hotels.

What?s it like? Check out Tiny Tower for another tower-building title, and Game Dev Story for a solid management game.
