Gittin? Er Done: 2013 Ford Mustang RTR Upgrades Announced

For the past few years, professional drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. has designed his own, customized versions of the Ford Mustang. Gittin Jr. has now revealed the latest version of his Mustang RTR, which is based on Ford?s face-lifted 2013 Mustang. The packages can be installed by certain participating Ford dealerships.

Gittin Er Done: 2013 Ford Mustang RTR Upgrades Announced imageThe modifications to the 2013 Ford Mustang closely resemble those of the 2011 Mustang RTR. The RTR Spec 1 package, available for V-6 or V-8-powered 2013 Mustang models, includes one-inch lower springs, a new exhaust, a new front splitter, 19-inch wheels, and an aluminum decklid spoiler. Those modifications cost $6250. The next step is the RTR Spec 2, which is available only on 2013 Mustang GT models equipped with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine. The Spec 2 package adds Ford Racing adjustable shock absorbers, 1.0- or 1.5-inch lowering springs, adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, a rear chassis brace, a K&N air filter, and a Ford Racing tune that adds 25 hp and 60 lb-ft of torque, for totals of 445 hp and 450 lb-ft. The $11,995 can be further upgraded by springing for a Ford Racing supercharger that can boost power to 525 hp or 624 hp, depending on configuration.

The company also promises to include a manual with each car that details optimal suspension settings for different driving situations ? drifting, drag racing, road racing, or everyday driving. In August, RTR also will release a ?Track Slayer? upgrade with improved Ford Mustang rear suspension components for serious road racing.

?I couldn?t be any more excited with the traction and reception of the RTR since its introduction just two short years ago,? Gittin Jr. said in a statement. ?Without question it is one the most impressive handling and fun-to-drive Mustangs out there.?
