Movie Review: Skyfall-007 at Vintage Village Theatre - Coronado ...

Bond is back and it's worth the trip to the theatre to witness it....

This was another great experience at the Vintage Village Theatre and I really enjoyed this movie even though I was sitting in the third row from the front. The way the large theatre is designed, I can sit that close and not feel like I am looking up and straining my neck?the entire movie. The theatre was packed for this opening weekend showing of ?Skyfall: 007?.

Daniel Craig, with his steely blue eyes, is back as James Bond, MI6 agent 007. The Bond movies, based on the books by author Ian Fleming are the longest running film franchise ever. This is the twenty-third 007 production.

?

Judi Dench returns as MI6?s ?M? and you may find yourself disliking her and rooting for her at the same time. She plays a strong woman in a high position who must make very difficult decisions. Someone from her past is not happy and it is causing terrible problems for not only the agency, but the country as well.

Javier Bardem is a great cast as the villain, Silva. He plays the role perfectly and you just can?t help but root for Bond to finally beat him. There is an underlying theme throughout the film that Bond may be too old and run down to be an effective agent anymore. The British government likes technology, not necessarily people. Bond proves, however, that technology can?t solve all problems and sometimes causes greater conflict than one can ever imagine.

Movie goer Steve commented ?I liked it. I always like the Bond films, though it was a little long.?

Indeed it is entertaining, but had an involved story line with lots of dialogue and twists and turns and is, in fact, over two hours long. I especially enjoyed the use of the original Bond music and the fact that some things with Bond never change. I didn?t find myself fidgeting too much and really did enjoy the ride.

Rating: PG-13
Running Time: 2 hours, 23 minutes
